The only bed and breakfast in Troy. Built in 1892 by a wealthy mason (as in brick and stone), the building still shows much of its interior glory with lots of original woodwork still in place. In keeping with its old-world charm, nothing has really been modernized - but all is clean and functional. Tina Urzan, the innkeeper, is delightful and friendly, and takes excellent care of her guests, including a home cooked breakfast, made to order. We stayed in the "Carpenter" room, which had a comfortable bed and a separate futon - perfect for the three of us. Alas, the neighborhood has seen better days, with vacant boarded-up buildings nearby. The mansion is also on a busy intersection. Nonetheless, Olde Judge Mansion offers very good value. I would recommend requesting a room that is not street side so that it is a bit quieter. If you are paranoid about neighborhood blight or are a light sleeper, I would not recommend staying here. Otherwise, Olde Judge Mansion offers a pleasant stay and is just a few minutes from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI).
