This is less of a tourist/visitor recommendation, and more of an ex-pat recommendation. White bread is ubiquitous in France, and at some point you may want something different and heartier. This artisanal bakery is it. Wood-fired ovens, wonderful rye and wheat breads. The Cherche-Midi location is the original. Expect long lines on the weekends. If you are touring around Paris and appreciate artisan baking - then don't hesitate to make a detour and visit Poilane. You will not be disappointed! Definitely not a tourist stop - you'll be elbow to elbow with locals.
