Some of the best Cajun and Southern cuisine to be found anywhere. To make things interesting, there's a subtle Thai influence on some dishes. We started with the shrimp and crawfish cakes, which were light, not too spicy, and complimented with a spoonful of Thai cucumber salad. For my entree, I headed straight for the Blackened Catsh Acadian with shrimp and crawsh etouffee, but substituted the dinner salad for a bowl of Homemade Looziana Gumbo. The Gumbo was really special, with homemade andouille sausage - some of the best sausage I've had in a long time, and the gumbo itself was not heavy at all. The catfish was well prepared and seasoned just right, but somehow left me wanting something more - the etoufee and rice, although perfectly good, didn't "wow" me the way the earlier dishes did. For dessert, we had the bread pudding - simply said, if you're a bread pudding fan, "don't miss it". The bread pudding portion was generous, easily shared, with a strong but not overpowering cinnamon flavor - moist, and topped with whipping cream. The atmosphere is casual and stylish, and bustling (not a quiet, intimate place), but not so loud that you can't have a conversation. Highly recommended, and a definite repeat for us next time we're back in Whitefish.
