David Modderman and his crew provide knowledgeable, quality work at fair rates. My 2005 C2 with 98k miles was in need of service to pass smog, and the dealer (un-named) quoted $1000 to fix the evap system error by replacing the evap pump, and another $1500 to fix my passenger side radiator fan that wasn't working by replacing the fan and controller. After some time on the Rennlist Porsche forum, it became clear that these were unlikely fixes to the problems. It was time to find a good independent, and the folks on Rennlist pointed me to Modderman Services in Mountain View. Long story short: David fixed my car for just over $300 - nowhere near the $2500 the dealer quoted. The fixes were simple: a new gasket on the gas cap (the dealer said that was not the problem) and a sensor for the fan (both the fan and the controller were perfectly fine). The work was done quickly, and the car was cleaner when I picked it up than when I dropped it off.
