The Environmental Volunteers (the EV) is an amazing organization that facilitates science and environmental education for over 10,000 youth in the San Francisco Bay Area. Classes are taught by a cadre of approximately 400 trained docent volunteers. The EV teach in a variety of venues: in the classroom, through field-trips, through summer camps, and in the EcoCenter. I love this organization for so many reasons -- children and adults alike are inspired to love and respect nature through hands-on experiential learning.
