Dr. Susan Purcell is nothing short of amazing. Besides teeth cleaning, she has done root planing and porcelain root facings for me. All were accomplished painlessly. If the lack of pain and trauma weren't a strong enough recommendation, there's more. What makes Dr. Purcell really special: she doesn't have dental assistants AND she is an assistant professor of dentistry at UCSF. She gets to know your teeth extremely well since she does all the cleaning personally. And if you want a brief academic treatise on any aspect of dentistry, just ask her a question at the beginning of your session - the time flies and you will learn so much! I especially appreciate her conservative and pragmatic approach to dental management - she's not quick to subscribe treatments, and prefers to monitor dental issues. Her husband Kevin works the reception, scheduling and insurance. Together they make a great team.
