We stayed in the Gold Room, upstairs. A clean and simple suite. What we liked best about the Whitman Inn was the very quiet neighborhood and the beds (Tempur-Pedic mattress and pillows). We stayed three nights, and slept soundly every one. The innkeepers are fabulous - David is your classic absent-minded math professor type, and Robert is an architect with a very warm personality. Together, the two offer a very pleasant stay. The inn itself has been rebuilt from the studs with a clean, light, modern interior design that reflects Robert's sense of aesthetics (Robert works at Harvard's Graduate School of Design). Parking in the back makes the inn especially convenient. Their philosophy is "self help" with whatever you need conveniently located. If you like watching a movie on DVD, they have a library with quite literally 1000 movies. We look forward to our next stay.
