To the best of my knowledge, the only diner-like place for breakfast in downtown San Mateo. The eggs benedict (my personal breakfast benchmark) was well prepared with just the right amount of potatoes and fruit so as not to make it a big breakfast. A better muffin, or even some toasted artisan bread (not really "diner" fair, though) would have gone a long way to making this a better eggs benedict. The hollandaise was good, and the eggs were cooked just right. I'd go back when in San Mateo. If I have more time, I'll head over to Christies or Il Fornaio in Burlingame - my two favorite eegs benedict. The eggs benedict at Crepe Vine is actually pretty good (better than Bay Watch), although the portions are a bit massive in my opinion.
