There are now only two banks (there used to be three) in the entire Bay Area that will refinance a TIC loan. Without much competition, refinancing a TIC can be challenging - challenging to find a reasonable rate and a willing banker. Bank of Marin had exited the TIC refinancing market, but recently re-entered. Working with Mark Ferguson was our first positive TIC refinancing experience. Mark is not only very knowledgeable about TICs and their special lending requirements, he's also very professional and pleasant to work with. No hiccups and no surprises. And he shaved 1.625% off our old mortgage. I highly recommend Mark if you are in the market for a TIC refi - you might be pleasantly surprised.

Earlier this year we completed a refinance of our TIC loan with Mark Ferguson of Bank of Marin. Our general experience with mortgage brokers has not been great. By contrast, Mark was professional, thorough, and refreshing to work with. He managed our expectations in terms of timeline, requirements, etc. If I called or emailed, he replied very quickly and was very respectful and thorough. In addition to Mark's great service, Bank of Marin's rate was reasonable (4% for a 7 year fixed, tied to a t bill index). I would definitely recommend working with Bank of Marin, and specifically Mark.
