Ikeda's is a family tradition for us. Whenever we head to or return from Lake Tahoe, we make a pitstop at Ikeda's to stretch our legs, get some burgers, fresh produce and groceries - and a pie. The burgers - big and juicy. The shakes - rich and creamy. The lines at the restaurant will be long if it's a holiday weekend. After a few days of hard skiing or summer outdoor fun, the burgers are the perfect way to refuel and end the trip. The pies are excellent - we're fond of the Dutch Apple pie. If you need to stock up on food and groceries on your way to Tahoe, this is a great place to do that. The produce is fresh and local. Be forewarned that those with a sweet tooth will find the candy aisle - we can't escape without sour belts. They also have a decent wine selection.
