This is an extraordinary and exciting new venue for Truckee and frankly, for the entire Tahoe community. Proprietors Heather Rivers and Brian Hess have created a place for 'tactile living' -- this is a community gathering spot for artists, collectors and the public to attend workshops, teach, share and to connect. We personally wandered in, drawn by the antique Heidelberg printing press in the window. We were delighted by all of the affordable and practical art supplies, and purchased a set of artist pencils and a wooden case. Yet this space is far more than art supplies. There are more than 17 classes in July alone, ranging from titles such as "Paper Tube Monsters' to "Intro to Bookbinding'. The inviting back space/classroom is separated by a handmade macrame wall, evidently crafted by the proprietors themselves. It is wonderful to have Atelier in the community!
